Janet Mcafee Feature Closeup

Focusing on simplicity, the design was upgraded in with many new features while retaining it's light & sophisticated feel. Subtle gradients and light textures are added to heighten the graphic treatment throughout the site, but remain in the negative space. This allows the site to maintain it's wonderful relaxed experience, but not look empty. A clear, easy-to-use property & agent path was the main objective. This site is one of the best at clearly and effectively displaying important property information.

A large new experience built into the homepage is an extra-wide dynamically driven Featured Home Flash Player. Large horizontal images are usually non-functional photos that just show off an area or are used as a texture, but JanetMcafee.com takes advantage of their great client's beautiful homes and professionally photographs each feature property. Not only does this make the homepage function well visually with dynamic photography, but it uses the space to market featured properties and provide agent recognition.

Features like the homepage map and the image rollovers are just a few additions that help build a well rounded and interactive experience. Small things can add value without adding load time, some extras may even reduce load times because they add functionality in a lighter way. Sometimes even eliminating other heavy older features.

Product navigation is a main point of discussion on any new digital product and the construction is even more of a concern for designers. Cross-browser compatibility, and load time are just two of the many things that can cause more than a bit of trouble. This navigation dynamically adjusts to the feature set in place while maintaining today's advanced CSS practice of image sprites.

Displayed are the smaller elements that are the core of the product and at the heart of the new feel. Icon keys, saved searches, and saved video tours have been updated to be more user friendly, while other features are a strange result of imagination. One new element is the dynamic agent selector. This literally puts a face to the name of the companies agent roster and pulls in any agents phone, email and personal site profile. This maybe a small feature in a little user account information section, but it shows off the powerful tools that we were able to develop into this new product release.
