An interview question I always ask...
(Sometimes I ask even if they’re not interesting)
“You could probably do anything, why are you a designer/information architect/developer?”
I want you to talk about yourself, your motivations. If you don’t know why you work, your history of work, your families legacy of work, what you get from work. I want to understand why you work.
If someone is applying to work with me and anyone on our teams, I want to make sure your there for the same reasons we are there. There is no right answer. But there definitely are flags that I know will conflict with the community of people we have brought together to make the crazy complicated projects that we produce. It is important to make sure that the group has the same values.
