Seth hints at the value of hours. The power of an hour, over time, when it compounds. Just like a monetary investment, training is an asset that will reap rewards over years.

Consider these two sides of training…

What exactly is training? I mean what constitutes wasting time, and training?

We all think of training as related to a specific task at a specific job or sport. We are introduced to the concept usually around the time we have to work at something in our teenage years. We had to put in the hours to develop some ability we previously didn’t have.

But could training be fun? Is it always work? Think of your favorite thing, something incredibly fun. Is that training? It might just be training for something you can’t understand yet.

When do we decide that training is no longer necessary?

Some people have required training for a position. Things change and we have to get trained. This is not the training that I’m talking about. You may not want to hear it, but training can be done off hours and without incentive or requirement.

Moving Forward…

What is the cost to ourselves, our careers if we do not pursue additional training?
